A big congratulations to the Faculty of Business and IT (FoBIT) team who were recently recognised at the inaugural CIO100 Awards.  The awards bring together top CIOs and senior IT and business executives from across New Zealand.

FoBIT was among five finalists in the ‘ICT-enabled community project’ category, receiving a Highly Commended for their entry.

The recognition was for the inaugural JHack and Code Camp events run last year, which attracted 150 secondary students from throughout Auckland and were run with the support of industry leaders.

Other Highly Commended Award winners included Air New Zealand, ASB Bank and Fletcher Building.

“This is a well-deserved recognition by the industry for what we do,” says John Wadsworth, Dean of FoBIT.  “In particular, I would like to acknowledge Edwina Mistry who is the drive, energy and inspiration behind our events portfolio.”
